Go to the northern end of the City of Collierville and sail along the Wolf River. At around 90 miles in length, the river goes along Collierville, TN and many other spaces around the city. Bring out a kayak or a small boat and paddle your way around this beautiful body of water.
The Wolf River goes around the Memphis region and moves into both Tennessee and Mississippi. Take a boat out and see how far you can go along the waterway. Go past Shelby Farms Park just outside Collierville, Tennessee en route to Memphis.
Find a few of the more prominent trees that call Tennessee home as you travel through the river. Look for the Tupelo gum and blackgum trees among others.
Wolf River is also an ideal place for birding. Look for the bald eagle, egret and osprey among other birds around the river. The region has been heavily protected for the safety of such animals. Be aware of this as fishing is illegal in the region.
Watch how local authorities work to preserve the river as you travel around. Much of the work around the river in recent time has been designed to stop the erosion of different surfaces in the region.
