[/az_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][az_column_text]Spring Hill Cemetery
Honor the past and see where a key part of Hendersonville, TN history was made at the Spring Hill Cemetery. In addition to being a cemetery, it is also the site of the first building that would eventually make up the University of Nashville. The place is also home to many burial sites for various country music stars.
See the stone house where the Davidson Academy originated at in the early nineteenth century. This eventually evolved into the University of Nashville, one of the earliest schools in the state. The since-defunct university was critical to the development of other important schools in the region including Vanderbilt University and the University School of Nashville.
While at the cemetery, see the final burial sites of many noteworthy figures in the fields of country and bluegrass music. Among the prominent figures who are buried here include Hank Snow, Earl Scruggs, Floyd Cramer, Kitty Wells and Roy Acuff.
Talk a walk along the cemetery and see its many stones and monuments all around. The cemetery has several peaceful trails for walking. It is encouraged that you be respectful of those buried at the park though as the place is primarily designed with walking in mind instead of other activities.
