Brentwood, Tennessee is right along a historic zoo. Visit the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere and see more than 300 species of animals around 200 acres of space.

Start your visit at the zoo near the City of Brentwood by touring the old plantation house. The Grassmere house is a nineteenth century property on the zoo grounds. Learn about the foundation of the zoo and how many of the animals who live here came to the grounds over the years.

Go over to the many zoo exhibits including the large giraffe exhibit in Brentwood, Tennessee. See the Masai giraffes in a full savannah environment. Look for the elephants not too far from the exhibit in their own individual savannah space.

See meerkats up close inside a fully interactive observation area. Notice the many small tunnels that they dig and how they link each one up. Watch the gibbons as they climb along trees and make their noticeable calls.

Bring the kids to the Jungle Gym, a large playground featuring a tall treehouse. Adults will enjoy sailing over the Soaring Eagle zip line as it takes people well over the zoo for a bird’s eye view of the numerous habitats that make up the land.
